PCJ Challenge

Over at PCJ this week the challenge is 'All Things Clear' - here is my take on it. It is a layout of my son Marc (this is the 2nd page I have done so far and he's almost 22years old, LOL)
Don't worry he is not very high in the sky nor is he an Un-identified Flying Baby LOL. Our friend was lying on the grass and my DH threw him up a little way (like you do with kiddies) and our friend just snapped his camera at the right time - I love this photo, but it is a bit old now!!! It was difficult to get a good piccy of it, it looks much better when you see the real thing.

Tagged again...

..By the one and only lovely Marlou - Thank you sweety :)

1} If you could have £100 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose?
Well that goes without saying, I love all paper, so I would choose the paper.

2}If you had to choose between using only stamps or rub ons, which would you choose?
Stamps everytime please.

3}If you knew how to do both awsome cards and layouts, but could only do one for a year, which would it be?
Would have to be cards.

4} Would you rather own a Scrapbooking store or have your own scrapping room at home??
Ooh my own crafting room at home - wouldn't want all the hassle of a shop.

5} Last but not least, what is your current cardmaking/scrapping style??
Well, don't think I gotta a style at the mo, depends what mood I'm in at the time.

Enjoyed those qestions - thanks Marlou :)

Now I would like to tag:- Louly, Kristy,Jay, Jules.

Magickdiva Thursday Challenge

Every Thursday Magickdiva sets a new challenge and this one is for a males card. I made this card for my brother who works with dogs and is a dog lover.
On this card I have used Anita's doggie stamp mounted onto corrugated cardboard for a fence effect, See D's for paw prints and greeting. I really don't know where the backing paper came from?? :)

Felt Trees

Just a quickie christmas card I made for no particular reason using felt trees, cuttlebug embossing board, sequins, glitter backing paper and paper buckle. :)

CMU - Romance

Over at CMU the lovely Juliet had set the challenge - Romance. So having got my new crop-a-dile I just had to use it. I actually made this card Friday but couldn't load it on due to my pc trouble.
Anyway the card is made from 2 cds hinged together by ribbon and the ribbon is also treaded all the way around. The heart is stamped, embossed and washed with gel pen. Embellishements added to finish. The card is lined in and out aswell. :0)

PC Trouble

Haven't been around for a few days becasue on friday my PC wouldn't work, it was as dead as a door nail. So I put it into my local shop and the blokey there checked it over and found it was the power supply - he put another in for me. :) Just got it back today - yeaa. Isn't it amazing how dependant on it you become.

Went to see The Bachelors

Last night we went to see The Bachelors (yes, they're still around). I wasn't sure what to expect given their ages. So in we went, got comfy, and then on they came......well - they were excellent and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. They were very professional and entertaining. They sang all their hits - Diane, I Believe, Charmaine to name a few and of course some Irish songs too. They also sang requests by other artists which they covered wonderfully.
Afterwards they did, autographs, photos and sold their cd, tapes, etc and proceeds went to charity - they do a lot of charity work, how sweet of them is that!
During the night I managed to get a few photos of them, one of me in front of their stage and another with a group of us gathered together. I also bought their latest cd, which they autographed for me. Shown with the pics too. :) :)

Crafts by Carolyn

Over on CBC site there are a few challenges going on.
I've made a couple of quick cards for them. The first one was to make a christmas card using only creams and browns and 1 ribbon. This is my result - doesn't do much for me, thought the colours all wrong for xmas, but that was the challenge.

Next challenge was to make a card not square or rectangle and here is mine - Chrsitmas Pud! This one I'm happier with, probably cause it is in christmas colours and looks cheery. :)

Paper Craft Junkies Challenge

Over at PCJ their challenge this week is flowers. Nice and easy :) Here is my entry:-
I used embroidered paper, some lace (from old bedding), a paper flower and buckle for this card. All items except lace are from local craft shop. Punched corners for little bit of effect, but wanted the card to remain clean and simple looking. Greeting added.

Fat Freddies Challenge

Over at Fat Freddies their monthly challenge is;

...On 2nd October 1968 the first Sextuplets were born in the UK - 4 boys and 2 girls.

Your challenge this month is to make a card or layout using the following rules:

Sextuplets = 6, so you must use 6 brads

4 boys = you must use 4 different pieces of ribbon (all must be different but can be any length)

2 girls = 2 rubber stamps

You can use any other additional papers & embellishments you like, but the finished project must have an Autumnal feel and must only use Autumn colours, ie browns, oranges, reds, greens etc.

So here is my entry, I used Shabby princess Fall paper, Hero Arts Lady stamp and embossed her with copper embossing powder. Added the ribbons, brads and stamped greeting to finish.

Crafts Beautiful Challenge

Over at CB the challenge this time is for Sparkle - can be a card, jewellery or anything sparkly. So I decided to try and make an altered domino into a christmas tree decoration. I have never altered a domino before and wasn't quite sure how and what to do??? Anyways came up with this, used UTEE and last layer with jewelled gold embossing powder and whilst still warm inset father christmas and a few wee gold stars. Added ribbon around edges and loop on back to hang from tree. not too bad for first attempt!!!
I'm the first one to post on the challenge so hope there are a few more. :)

Caardvarks paint challenge

Brush it on, stamp it on, crackle it, puff it, pounce it, dab it, just do it! That's the challenge Caardvarks have set. Now I am not into painting at all and found this challenge challenging!!! But I do love a challenge. Here's mine, I'm not over the moon about it, but at least I tried and completed it!!!!
I used Shabby Princess backing paper, a downloaded reindeer from last year (don't know where from), painted him with acylic paints, 3d his nose, added some googly eyes and a little bell - cute. Finished with Happy Christmas sticker and reindeer embellishment.

Distressed and Worn

Distressed and worn is the current challenge over at PCJ. Here is my take on it.
Well, I distressed the white card with lemon juice and heat gun to burn it and tore the edges, stamped happy birthday background and stamped and embossed rose and 3d on centre. Outer layer of vellum is also torn, skeleton leaves added, scroll effect made from cuttlebug embossing folder and inked, then to finish added organza ribbon, which I melted slightly with heat gun too.
Ummmm - I smell something burning!!!!!!!! :)

Thoughts to baby Maddie and Bella

Whilst checking out PCJ forum I read about a family and their plight. It's very sad and touched me deeply and brought tears to my eyes.
The full details are on this link http://craftyengineering.blogspot.com/2007/10/blog-candy-for-cause.html if you want to have a read and perhaps support the family. Their friend Andrea is collecting RAKs for them and she in turn is offering blog candy.
I am not interseted in the blog candy, but thought it is so easy to make and send a card to support the family - so I have made this simple card and am posting here to help support Andrea's cause.

Caardvarks Micro Challenge

Yeaa I've found time to do the Caardvarks micro challenge - first time for doing this. Their challenge is to have scallops on the front of the card. For this card I used felt cut with decorative scallop scissors, stamped this with stazon and Inkadinkadoo stamp. Used the free template from Crafty templates for the Robin, added wiggly eye and liquid applique. Stamped and coloured snowman and added again liquid applique to him and for the snow on the hill. Lastly finished off with greeting again cut with decorative scissors.
